Week 6: Problem 24

Beth would like to order a large lasagna that will almost cover her table. You don’t have enough room in the oven for a lasagna as big as she wants, even if you could find a pan to cook it in. You decide to make two large pans of lasagna and serve them side by side.
Each lasagna pan is the same size. The width of each pan is 4 ¼  inches shorter than the length, which measures 16 ½  inches.

What is the area of both lasagnas served together, in square inches?
