The Bad Apple

Book Summary:
This is the first book in the Merits of Mischief series. Seamus is a good kid, but a terrible accident leads him to a strange kind of reform school. It turns out to be a school for Troublemakers, where behaving badly is, well, good. Is it right to find success by breaking all the rules? Book Review: There are a lot of appealing elements in this book. It's fast-paced and includes unexpected characters and technological gizmos that make trouble-making more imaginative than usual. There is more emphasis on plot than character, but it scratches the surface of some interesting questions about right and wrong. This would be a good book to recommend for independent reading to any student who loves action and humor. "Faculty members . . . will teach you specific skills useful in surprising, scaring, or otherwise messing with adults." |
