Jamie Wright is a librarian in Austin, Texas. She has a Master of Arts in Gifted Education from The University of Connecticut, a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Music Education from The University of Iowa, and a Creative Writing Certificate from The University of Calgary.

Jamie has enjoyed teaching music, fifth grade, creative writing, and gifted students in public and private schools from pre-K through high school, including IB-PYP schools. She has taught in Iowa, Connecticut, North Carolina, Missouri, Canada, and Texas. She loves reading, writing, talking, travel, and quirky ideas. Welcome!

I developed the first version of this site as an enrichment resource for students at my school in St. Louis, Missouri in 2010. It expanded to a larger site with more book recommendations, book quizzes, math word problems, and writing prompts, and was redesigned in 2018. My goal is to continue to build a useful resource that encourages people of all ages to read widely and often, and to provoke discussions about texts, in addition to discussions about teaching, learning, and ideas. I hope this site will encourage parents, teachers, and students to invest in the power of literacy, conversation, and student-centered learning. Thank you for visiting!
