Book Summary:
A group of teens with mental trauma meet at a private Florida clinic for experimental concussion treatments, but they discover that the treatment has a dark downside. This is a story about who to trust, who to avoid, and who each person will ultimately become. Book Review: Kate Messner has a distinctive style - she brings details to her characters (like relationships with family members) that aren't common to authors of books for this age group. This book is more about action than character development, but it still brings the four diverse main characters to life. While the book is predominantly a thriller and has a somewhat scary vibe, it is not graphically violent like The Hunger Games. Still, content may be disturbing for some upper elementary readers.
