Book Summary:
Cecily, Gabrielle, and Prianka have been good friends forever. Sixth grade brings all kinds of troubles and opportunities, from school activities to friendships. Victoria is new to town, and she tries very hard to befriend people. Sometimes friend groups aren't exclusionary, but they aren't inclusive, either. This book, told entirely in texts and emails, explores middle school relationships and friendship expectations, and mistakes. Book Review: Many readers are likely to have strong opinions about whether Victoria is too demanding about breaking in to the trio's friendship group, or whether they are leaving her out and have a responsibility to be kinder. This debate is the draw for readers who are making decisions about these kinds of relationships - or watching peers make them - on a daily basis. I preferred Greenwald's Pink and Green novel (in regular prose) to this, but I think the format will be highly appealing to the target audience.
