Geek Girl - Series

Book Summary:
Book 1: Geek Girl If Bridget Jones were a mathematical genius with control-freak tendencies, you might mistake her for Harriet Manners. She spouts obscure facts like nobody else can, and is desperately seeking kindred spirits. Through a sequence of accidents, Harriet is offered a modeling contract, and although she has very little interest in fashion or her own appearance, she accepts. Can Harriet find a way to be herself in the middle of a competitive fashion jungle? Book 2: Model Misfit
Book 3: Picture Perfect Book 4: All That Glitters Book 5: Head Over Heels Book 6: Forever Geek Book Review:
This book is one of my very favorite guilty pleasures. Although this book will probably not change the way you look at the world, it provides some delightfully charming laughs and, potentially, awkward moments of recognition. Harriet's father is a bit goofy, but her stepmother is organized, brilliant, and no fool. While many things about the story are not trying too hard to be realistic, it's still a win that the person who best connects to Harriet's love for math and science is her business-savvy stepmom. ". . . a felt tip sign that says 'you break it, you buy it,' followed by the most inappropriately placed smiley face I have ever seen in my entire life. |
