Book Summary:
Can Felicity bring the magic back to the town of Midnight Gulch? Can she build a family even though her mother has a "wandering heart?" Book Review: This is a book in which a protagonist is missing parents and has a group of erratic townspeople supporting her. It's a common theme - Everything on a Waffle, The Higher Power of Lucky, Hope Was Here, Rachel Spinelli Punched Me in the Face, and Waiting for Normal all follow it. This one is a little quirkier, in part because of periodic stories about magical things that happened in the town a few generations earlier, and because of Felicity's word-collecting, including the use of invented words. This book reminds me a bit of the movie Big Fish - some readers will love the magic and whimsy. "A Snicker of Magic quote"
