Each boy must train his dragon to follow simple commands by the Thor'sday Thursday festival, or be banished from the tribe. How to Train Your Dragon
Cleverly written and infinitely more funny and enjoyable than the movie, this book does not disappoint. While the movie was a predictable action/adventure story, the book's characters and events are quite different, with more depth and surprises. It's like Captain Underpants's more sophisticated, and enviably cooler older brother, if he had more heart and brain to back up his witticisms. Even if you dislike low-brow humor involving drooling, belching, and Viking insults, you will find more than enough to make you laugh and cheer about as you read this book.
